IV International Congress on Pedagogical Mediation in Language Learning

This event takes place from June 4 to 6.

The International Congress on Pedagogical Mediation in Language Learning ICPMLL, organized by UNAD’s Master’s Program in Pedagogical Mediation in English Language Learning and the Research Group VIRTUALEX, brings together educators, researchers, and academics worldwide. This year, the congress theme is “Inclusion, Diversity, and Innovation in a Complex World”, which addresses the need to create inclusive educational practices, embrace diverse perspectives, and foster innovative approaches to overcome the complexities of modern language learning environments. The congress seeks to explore new perspectives in language teaching and pedagogical mediation through discussions, educational practices, and research collaboration. This free and certified event provides a platform for sharing knowledge and best practices in the field of language teaching to improve the quality of language education.
Thematic Axes
Proposals are welcome in the following topic strands (suggested but not limited to):
- Pedagogical mediation in language learning: Benefits and challenges of pedagogical mediation in language learning.
- Technological Innovation in Language Acquisition: Explores the innovative use of digital tools, emerging technologies and AI in language teaching, improving mediation and educational interaction in diverse contexts.
- Inclusive Policies and Cultural Diversity in the Language Classroom: Focuses on strategies to promote equity and respect for diversity in multilingual teaching, adapting methods to the needs of students with diverse backgrounds.
- Innovation in Teaching and Learning Methodologies: Development and application of innovative pedagogical approaches and methodologies that respond to the demands of a complex world and drive efficiency in language acquisition.
- Experiences and Case Studies in Pedagogical Mediation in Language Learning: Focuses on practices and results of applied research, in which the impact of mediation in the improvement of the language learning process is evidenced.
- Educational innovation through literature: Research and experiences that implement emerging practices to enhance teaching and learning methodologies through literature.

Talk: “Pedagogical mediation and language learning in an AI world”
Robert Godwin-Jones, Ph.D., is Professor in the School of World Studies at Virginia Common-wealth University (VCU). At VCU he has served as Chair of the Department of Foreign Lan-guages, Director of the Instructional Development Center (Office of Information Technology), and Director of the English Language Program (Office of International Education). He has served as a guest lecturer at universities in China, France, Germany, Vietnam, and India. His research is principally in applied linguistics, in the areas of language learning and technology and intercultural communication. He writes a regular column for the journal Language Learning & Technology on emerging technologies. Robert has published five books and numerous articles and book chapters, as well as regularly presenting at international conferences. His most recent book, co-edited with Richard Lin and I.J.
